Colourpop Thought Bubble SSS

Thought Bubble is a gorgeous tie dye super shock shadow described as a “moderately warm-toned, medium-dark taupe with a metallic finish”

It has that beautiful metallic finish and flecks of glitter throughout. It was still a very smooth and blendable SSS in my collection without needing to add anything to bring it back to life.

2023 Goals and Natasha Denona 28 Green-Brown palette look

This is hands down my most expensive eyeshadow palette. I purchased it a couple of years ago when ND had a 50% off sale for Black Friday, still making it a costly palette.

I already had a few of her palettes when I bought this one and was familiar with the formula. I was excited to have the palette but since then I haven’t used it much – not surprising given the amount of eyeshadow palettes I have!

In 2022 I really focused on not purchasing as many palettes as I previously did, in fact, I haven’t even purchased the latest ND palette, Retro Glam Palette.

For 2023 I want to refocus on panning my existing palettes so between now and the end of the year I’ll be choosing a few palettes to focus on and the ND Green Brown palette is the first one in the list.

I used it for a few days last week to start it going and I’ve really been enjoying the looks.

As you can see, I paired it with the new Colourpop Muppet Christmas palette to make a more colorful look.

I love the blue green shift of Cloudy Blue and I think it went perfect with th blue in the Colourpop palette

What do you think of this look and what are some of your beauty 2023 goals?

Colourpop Salvaje

Here’s a look using Colourpop’s limited edition palette Salvaje, a collab with singer Becky G.

The palette came out in 2018 and was not the standard quality for Colourpop shadows but even now (don’t judge me) the shadows still apply and blend nicely.

I used NYX glitter primer on my lid under the shimmers, which I do with all shimmers I use, and I used Colourpop Mamacita lip liner as eyeliner to darken the lash line.

Tarte Amazonian Clay Gem Powder Foundation

I tried the new Tarte Amazonian clay gem powder foundation in 22S light sand and is described as “Talc-free, loose powder foundation with natural finish”

Available on Tarte image from Tarte website

I had to go a shade lighter, 22S, than I would normally, 26N, because they were sold out (and still are) of that shade.

I was in a rush when I applied this and I didn’t have time to test it before going ham on my face.

I used the puff that comes with the powder and applied it at my undereye area thinking I would be able to swipe off excess powder. WRONG. This powder stuck to my skin like it was painted on.

I spent about five minutes switching between a brush and puff trying to blend off the powder and blending it onto the rest of my face.

It ended up looking OK, even though it felt like solidified dough on my face.

Since then I’ve used it again a couple of times, each time carefully patting a small amount on my skin.

I don’t think it’s anything groundbreaking; maybe I have to use it more to really decide.

Colourpop Makeup look

Here’s a quick makeup look using mostly Colourpop products.

Some of the products are no longer available so I figured I’d provide swatches in case anyone wanted to recreate the look or use similar colors!

At Forest Sight eyeshadow palette
ALT lippie pencil (as liner)
Best Intention Lippie Stix
Flynn lux liquid lipstick
Tick blush
Main Attraction highlighter

I appreciate that I’m able to use the lippie pencils as eyeliners because I would never use green as a lip color lol.

I love the blushes and highlighters and wish they were still available. I feel like I’ve used these products so much, and the highlighter is on my pan project, but I haven’t hit pan yet and barely made a dent!

I wish Colourpop had a bronzer I could use but I’ve found their bronzer to be too light, too orange or too stiff and hard to blend.

Let me know if you own any of these products!

Givenchy Prisme Libre Foundation

I received the Givenchy Prisme Libre Skin-Caring Matte Foundation from Influenster free for testing. I really like the Prisme Libre loose powder so I was excited to try the foundation.

It’s described as: “A skincare-infused, long-lasting matte foundation that is lightweight and natural while blurring and addressing imperfections for up to 24 hours.

It definitely is matte and I would describe it as full coverage even though Sephora’s website describes it as medium coverage. I would recommend starting with a small amount and build it up.

I also noticed that if I didn’t moisturize well enough, it would make my skin look a little dry, and I also had to go in very light with a finishing powder.

Once I figured out the right amount to use and how to set it, I enjoyed the foundation.

For a high-end brand, I don’t think $49US is too expensive, you get the standard 1oz, it’s a pump bottle and has a nice frosted glass look.

I’m still on the fence about whether or not I would buy this on my own. I have many other foundations I enjoy more but I didn’t dislike this one. I’ll continue to use the foundation and will try to remember to provide an update once I’ve gotten more use of it, especially in the warmer summer months.

Have you used this foundation? Are you interested in trying it?

Don’t forget the Sephora sale is coming up soon and it would be a great time to pick this up!

Sephora Squad

I wasn’t going to apply for the Sephora Squad because I was scared I wouldn’t make it but, I accepted I’d never know if I don’t try.

As a woman in a male dominated industry it took me a while to find my femininity. I didn’t think beauty and success could coincide but now I focus on feeling both.

My goal has always been to set an example as someone who focuses on feeling and looking confident in everyday settings.

I love being able to share my experiences with others in the same work setting or anyone who didn’t grow up wearing makeup or having a skincare routine.

If you’d like to help me make the squad, a testimonal would be a great help and I would much appreciate it!
