2023 Goals and Natasha Denona 28 Green-Brown palette look

This is hands down my most expensive eyeshadow palette. I purchased it a couple of years ago when ND had a 50% off sale for Black Friday, still making it a costly palette.

I already had a few of her palettes when I bought this one and was familiar with the formula. I was excited to have the palette but since then I haven’t used it much – not surprising given the amount of eyeshadow palettes I have!

In 2022 I really focused on not purchasing as many palettes as I previously did, in fact, I haven’t even purchased the latest ND palette, Retro Glam Palette.

For 2023 I want to refocus on panning my existing palettes so between now and the end of the year I’ll be choosing a few palettes to focus on and the ND Green Brown palette is the first one in the list.

I used it for a few days last week to start it going and I’ve really been enjoying the looks.

As you can see, I paired it with the new Colourpop Muppet Christmas palette to make a more colorful look.

I love the blue green shift of Cloudy Blue and I think it went perfect with th blue in the Colourpop palette

What do you think of this look and what are some of your beauty 2023 goals?

Colourpop Limoncello – 2 looks

Colourpop Limoncello was a palette released last year that immediately caught my attention. Between the bright colors of the packaging, that metallic lime green, the one colorful shade in an otherwise neutral palette…I knew it would end up in my collection.

It’s described on Cplourpop’s website as:

“Living la dolce vita! Inspired by dreamy spring days and freshly squeezed lemons for the perfect limoncello, our newest 12-pan palette features richly pigmented matte and metallic shadows in fun and vibrant shades. Create a bright and fresh look perfect for cruisin’ down the coast or a sunny picnic escape!”

Here are two looks I created using this palette

I wanted to create a look using the blue shade, La Fiesta. I’m not used to wearing blue so it took me a minute and a failed attempt to come up with something.

I had originally tried to place the blue in my crease so I could create a neutral look with just a pop of blue but the way the colors were blending it looked muddy. I’m happy I ended up using it all over the lid because it’s a gorgeous color that’s nicely pigmented.

I did struggle with getting the color to look even all over the lid and felt like it faded quickly. Next time I will use either a colored base or pigment glue. Overall I was really happy with this look and didn’t feel awkward wearing blue.

The next look I did was much more toned down because I had to go in to the office.

I think this palette has great choices to make a colorful look or neutral look.

KISS Lashes and Glue

I don’t wear lashes often because I’m not a fan of waiting for the glue to dry, or worse, you wait only to find out you didn’t shake well enough, or waited too long or it’s still too wet.

I used the KISS Felt Tip Glue Liner Lash Adhesive and the lashes were so easy to apply! My mom was wish me as I was using it for the first time and mentioned her friend uses the liner glue and had told her it was easy but I didn’t believe it. This felt like I touched the lashes down and they were on!

Since the glue is in black, all I had to do was apply where I would my liner and pop the lashes on! It was so easy and comfortable. The felt tip made the liner super easy to apply too.

The lashes I used are KISS My Lashes but better in Blessed. The band is clear and nice and flexible. They were easy to trim down, apply and remove and clean. They were very lightweight even though they added a nice amount of volume.

Available at Ulta

The only downside to the glue is that I applied my mascara first so applying liner after can clump up my lashes. To avoid this, I waited until the mascara was dry, applied the liner glue then ran a clean mascara brush through my lashes to seperate tnem

I would definitely recommend both these products!

Colourpop Baroque look

Here I am again with another colourpop palette, oops 🙂

I’m sure there are others who, like me, make impulsive purchases knowing they might not use what they buy or try to go out of their comfort zone.

I liked almost everything from the Take it to Baroque collection with the exception of the lux liquid lip glosses (3 in the collection) and the Baroque palette so the collector in me got the entire collection. >.<

Colourpop Baroque palette

So, I have this palette with colors I never use, now what. Well, guess I’ll just put some colors on my lids

I used Bébé in the crease, applies softly and blended out. I had a little bit of issues with this being patchy but I was able to blend it out after a couple of layers.

Then I applied Lounge to the outer third and blended it into the crease

I applied Secret all over the lid, first with a pencil then tapped it into my lid to try to get some of beautiful periwinkle glitter on the lid. The sequence formula doesn’t really transfer that well out of the pan.

I used some NYX glitter glue over secret and applied Ritzy over it from the middle to the inner corner.

Then I applied Noble over the middle towards the out third.

Once I applied Ritzy and Noble I loved the look.

I used Bébé across the lower lash and added lounge to the outer third lower

My final first impression thoughts on the palette are that the formulas are easy to use, pigmented and blend out nicely. The colors are beautiful and the colors story is perfect together.

Even if you don’t use these colors often, I’d recommend giving this palette a try!

Colourpop Green/Teal SSS look

I can’t remember when it was but, I purchased the Colourpop “Is This Real Life” Super Shock Shadow vault when it first released. First, because I’m a sucker for vaults and second, I really enjoy the formula. However, because it was a “limited edition” release (it’s since been abatible two or three times again) I hadn’t really touched the set.

For reasons we won’t speak of (oops), I finally started using the SSS in this collection

For the eyes I used: Colourpop Candy Castle – Rainbow trail in the crease as the first color and Lord Licorice to blend after I applied the SSS

From the vault I used Left on Thread and Take me Higher SSS

I was impressed that even after so long the SSS were creamy and color rich.

Have you tried the formula? What are your thoughts?

Do you have a certain makeup item you don’t use out of fear of using it up?

Blue eyeshadow

The upside of not leaving my house is I can play with makeup looks I don’t feel the most comfortable with. This means blue eyeshadow!

Products used:

Sydney Grace: Success, Storm Clouds, Moonlit Kingdom and Palace

Colourpop Prance gel pot liner

The eyeshadows applied beautifully with a dry, dense flat brush (Morphe M209) and blended easily.

I really struggle with the Colourpop gel pot liners. They don’t apply smoothly like typical gel liners and they easily cake up and break up but I refuse to give up on them, because I own the entire vault.

I don’t think this is a look I’d ever wear out but I enjoyed playing with the colors and combination!

Blue Eyeshadow

I’m not typically comfortable with wearing blue eyeshadow but now that it’s baseball season I’ve stepped up my game for the sake of the Dodgers 😍Last season we didn’t go to any games so this season we’re definitely making up for it.Today’s look consisted of the following Colourpop single pressed shadows:Issues, Paper Tiger, Sea Stars, Popular Demand and Quantum SleepI would definitely recommend using a primer or white base for this. I’m halfway through the day and had to touch up my lid color.
