Face Sheet Masks

I feel like a couple of years ago sheet masks were all the rage and these days I don’t see them talked about as often.

I personally love using them but I find them to be a hassle. This is mostly because I don’t particularly enjoy the wet texture of the mask as I’m taking it out of the package and when I’m applying them.

Recently though, I was watching someone in YouTube and they mentioned they didn’t think face masks had any skincare benefits and it made me want to use one again.

In the past when I used them, I would still walk around and do some cleaning or decluttering but now I really give myself 10-15 minutes to just close eyes and relax.

I’m no expert on skincare or active ingredients but I can say that after using the mask my skin felt hydrated. After massaging in any remaining serum, I applied my regular skincare and my skin stayed hydrated. I can’t say that the mask did or didn’t do anything but, it was a nice and relaxing 15 minutes.

How do you feel about sheet masks?

Fresh Body Wash

This one’s a little different but bear with me. (btw I googled and confirmed bear is the correct version of the word)

When we talk about self care we talk about face skincare, makeup, bubble baths and perhaps some yummy drinks. But what we don’t always talk about it our body wash.

There are definitely body washes I do not like but in general there are just body washes I use.

They’re interchangeable. They smell nice. They make my skin feel clean without stripping it if hydration. Whatevs right?

So, when I realized I was running out of by bath and body works body gel I went to reorder what I had. I thought, maybe I’ll check out some other scents etc. The issue was, I really like not going to malls now and I hate $6 shipping for a $14 body wash.

This applies to all stores too, not just BBW.

While trying to figure out what I wanted to wash myself with, I discovered Fresh also sold body wash and it was on sale.

I enjoy many other Fresh products so I decided to give it a try and patiently waited for my order to arrive.

Let me tell you all. This did not disappoint. Not as a Fresh product and not as a body wash.

It foams up perfectly, and you don’t require a heap load to get that nice commercial style lather. And the lychee scent? Like I smooshed all the unavailable lychee and rubbed it on myself.

This made my entire shower smell of my fruit dreams and left my skin feeling clean and refreshed.

In conclusion, I highly recommend this body wash if you’re in the market to splurge on your body.

Working from home and Isolation

It’s been a little over 11 weeks since I’ve been working from home and I’ve been focusing on keeping a routine as much as I have been on being productive.

As easy as it may be to remain in my pj’s, skip: showers, hair brushing, makeup, I’ve been focusing on not doing these things.

I mean, my weekly outfits have become one set of bottoms for sleep, one set for awake time and different tops every day but at least there’s some variety!

The other thing I’ve been focusing on is my skincare routine and applying makeup everday. I’m able to focus more on my skincare because my skin spends more time without makeup on than it did before and I’m not in a rush to get going, but applying makeup is the real pick me up to my day.

I’m loving getting to expirement with more colors, colors I wouldn’t usually wear to the office, and trying different formulas I wouldn’t in the past.

A pink liner moment

So far I’ve learned I don’t hate shimmery blushes and bronzers as much as I thought I did and maybe dewy foundation actually works better than matte.

Some days I only apply lisptick, or eyeshadow and mascara. Even doing the simplest of makeup helps lift my spirits.

I believe that sticking to these routines have really helped keep me grounding in these uncertain times.

How have you been adjusting or coping?
