Maybelline Dream BB Fresh 8-in-1 Skin Perfector

I’ve been testing out new foundations/BB cream/CC creams lately and today I used the Maybelline Dream BB Fresh 8-in-1 Skin Perfector

I purchased it at Ulta which carries 5 non-inclusive shades, not sure if the brand carries a larger variety elsewhere.

I purchased 120 medium which looked to have a neutral undertone in the swatches provided. It came out a little darker than I thought it would but it applied nicely once I spread it out and matched my skin.

Since it is a BB cream the color of the product is more forgiving.

I set the cream using the new elf Camo pressed powder. I think they look nice together but either my skin is too dry for this or I need something more skin smoothing.

It’s a nice light BB cream that helps even out skin tone and provides you with spf 30.

I went over some areas I wanted more coverage on with concealer.

This is a product I’ll keep using before I give my final thoughts.

Have you tried this? What are your thoughts and do you have recommendations of other light to medium coverage products I should try?

This has been in my drafts for a cool second and since then I’ve misplaced the product *face-palm*

Wet N Wild Mega Protein Mascara

I’m not usually picky when it comes to mascara, in fact my favorite mascara is an Essence Lash Princess mascara that’s $4. However, when it comes to this WNW mascara, it is awful.

I picked it up hoping it would be another great inexpensive mascara (also because I didn’t have a mascara on me and didn’t want to spend money on one, haha), but it’s not. It feels greasy, maybe it’s the “protein”, and it doesn’t do much for my lashes. It actually clumps them up and makes them look sparse. Even though it stays feeling greasy, it does get hard to comb through which is how I’ve managed to get my lashes to look decent.

I’m trying to use this up, because I’m stubborn and because I hope it somehow becomes better. Once this is gone I’ll be sticking to my Essence mascara.

Wander Beauty Mascara

If you have any kind of beauty subscription you’ve probably received some variation of the Wander Beauty mascara more than once.

This gold packaged volume and length mascara is the latest one I’ve tried.

I used two coats on top and one on the bottom. Overall I like the way it made my lashes look, it wasn’t too wet when first opened and it gave me good volume. I did notice that in between the two coats, which I applied one eye then second eye, back to first eye then second eye, seemed to dry fast.

The one thing I can’t get down with is the packaging. I’m sure it’s better than a tube, because you can squeeze the last of the product onto the wand, but it’s too unconventional for me. The other thing I noticed, which it didn’t say on the packaging, is that this is waterproof, which I prefer not to use.

I like the mascara and would recommend it if you’re looking for a volumizing waterproof mascara.

Morning must haves

It’s officially heater season and with it comes dry skin and a runny nose for me.

Fortunately I’m not having to worry about people seeing my flaky skin but it’s still a concern so I’m doing everything possible to protect my skin.

With all the skincare I have, I probably overdo my routine but I do have some staples I stick to:

Saturday Skin 10% Glycolic Acid + Pore Control Compkex (gifted) : helps refine and smooth skin’s appearance. I use this 4-5 times a week

Peach & Lily The Good Acids Pore Toner : an exfoliating toner that’s gentle enough for daily use. It’s designed to wipe away dead skin cells and has ingredients to keep your complexion clear, which is perfect for mask enduced acne.

Innisfree My Lip Balm : this is a mousse texture balm that instantly hydrates your lips. I apply this right after toner and leave on while I finish my skincare routine and makeup.

Fresh Beauty Black Tea Kombucha Facial Treatment Essence (gifted) : this is for smooth, luminous skin and makes my skin feel instantly hydrated.

Saturday Skin Wide Awake Brightening Eye Cream with Avocado (gifted) : helps with dryness, dark circles and puffiness. This adds instant hydration to my undereye area.

Tatcha Serum Stick: a concentrated treatment and touch up balm. I use this on my chin, my eye socket area and between my brows. These are my driest and most wrinkled areas so I figure they require the high intensity stuff

Laneige Water Bank Hydro Essence (gifted) : help with dryness, dullness, uneven texture and oiliness. This is described as “an essence that drenches the skin in esencial moisture” and that’s exactly what it does.

Saturday Skin Pretty Pop Probiotic Power Whipped Cream (gifted) : helps with dryness, fine lines and wrinkles. This is a great moisturizer that doesn’t leave my skin feeling oily and is lightweight.

Are any of these part of your morning routine? What are your must haves?

Farmacy Green Clean Makeup removing balm

Recently I’ve been enjoying buying mini sizes of products for two reasons. I can try the product out before committing to it and there’s more of a chance I’ll use it all up and feel better about my spending habits.

Last night I finished 0.4 fl oz of the Farmacy Green Clean Makeup removing balm

I enjoyed the scent and how soft it melted onto my face. It doesn’t feel oily or heavy and it removed my makeup nicely.

I did have to focus on my mascara more in order to get it off but that’s pretty standard; I use two or three coats of mascara.

I enjoyed this balm but have another to use up before deciding if I will purchase a full size.

Shiseido Benefiance Smoothing Eye Cream

I was lucky enough to review the Influenster Shiseido Voxbox which arrived this week.

I was super excited to see I’d be receiving this voxbox because who doesn’t love a good eye cream?

This cream is nice and thick and absorbs nicely into the skin. It does take a little bit longer to sink in so I would give yourself enough time to let it absorb if you’re putting on makeup over it. There is no scent to it and it leaves your skin feeling instantly hydrated without a sticky feeling.

This product claims to improve “the appearance of six types of wrinkles in just one week”. It’s good for all types of skin type as well.

This is the third day I use it, I’ve been using it in the morning and the evening and I do feel like my undereye has been more hydrated. I forgot to take initial pictures but I took some today and will compare them to more pictures in a week and again in one month.

Tati Beauty Blendiful

I did not order the blendiful when it was first released because, to be honest, Tati’s first release was very underwhelming and I expected this to be too.

Then as it popped up all over YouTube I was convinced to give it a try. I do a lot of traveling so having one product that could do so much was very appealing.

My package arrived Sunday, today is Monday so I’ve had three days to use it. Here are my thoughts:

  • It is not an intuitive product to use. It’s great that it’s large and can be bulky and hard to handle easily
  • It applied my Tatcha primer nicely, I enjoyed being able to really press it into my skin
  • I enjoyed that it felt like I was applying my foundation with my hands without the hassle of getting my hands dirty
  • I absolutely loved that I could, technically, do my entire face with it from primer to powder oroducts
  • Washing it is also not intuitive. Imagine washing a stuffed animal trying to get stains out of the cloth. Each time I’ve used a different soap hoping something would work easier but the most noticeable thing is that after having been washed it’s left feeling a bit stiff. It’s almost like I should have used a conditioning soap with it.
  • It didn’t seem to absorb much of the products used
This was what it looked like after my first use

I was going to hold off on a review until I felt more comfortable using the product so I could “give it a fair chance” but after Tati released her video on how to use it, I felt like I should review what my first experiences were.

Here’s a link to her video https://youtu.be/EdRICdCCNrI

Overall, the blendiful does what it claims to do, it applies your makeup nicely and cuts back on the amount of brushes you need. The price is right for the two products you get.

What are your thoughts? Did you buy it? Are you skipping it?

New Bite Beauty!

I received the new Bite Beauty face and reformulated lip crayon thanks to Influenster and I absolutely loved everything!

Included in my voxbox were the new Changemaker Skin-Optimizing Primer, Supercharged Micellar Foundation, Flexible Coverage Pressed Powder and Power Move Creamy Matte Lip Crayon

The primer is a white moussey consistency that leaves my skin feeling smooth and moisturized. I do need to use a pore filling primer in my tzone but you can get away with using only this if you don’t have larger pores.

The foundation is fantastic! It’s fluid enough that I only used a brush to apply it to avoid having too much product soak into a sponge. It applies wet but as it sets it gives a nice, natural dewy finish. I have oily combo skin so I had to set this foundation. It does have a slight scent that lingers, it’s not very strong but it’s good to make note of in case you’re sensitive to scents.

The pressed powder is perfect to set the foundation! It gives a nice soft matte look. I applied it with a powder blush for a light layer to set and I used the puff to tap the powder around my tzone for more oil control. The only thing I would change is the puff that comes with the powder, it’s too flimsy and doesn’t feel like it will last, but you can easily change that out.

I’ve used the lip crayons in the past and found this new formula to be soft and creamy but definitely not matte. It also has a slight scent that lingers.

Overall I would highly recommend these products!

Lancome Cis Booster XL VoxBox

I received the Lancome Cis Booster XL lash primer to try complimentary in a VoxBox from Influenster (click here to join for free)

I’ve used it just about every day for the last five days and I didn’t enjoy the results when I used it with the Defenicils mascara I also received in the box. My lashes were just clumpy and didn’t have volume

I tried it today with another mascara on my left eye and applied mascara without the primer on my right and I can see a slight difference but not enough to purchase it on my own
