Purple shimmer look

Recently I’ve gotten more into single shadows and depotting my palettes.

I love being able to see so many options to chose from.

Sydney Grace, Coloured Raine, Makeup Geek and Colourpop

Buying singles also gives me the opportunity to try more brands, especially indie brands that only sell single shadows.

This is also a great way to utilize more than one palette and brand.

For than look I used the following shadows:

  • Colourpop – Zested, West Side
  • Makeup Geek – Cocoa Bear, Steampunk
  • Sydney Grace – Golden Wheat, Aim High

To bring out a little more of the lilac I used Colourpop Piggy Bank gel liner.

I’d love to know what others think of using singles!

Colourpop Eye look V1

Not sure if the previous Colourpop palette posts count but I’m calling this V1 because I’m using shadows I’ve depotted and placed into one large palette.

This is the x-large palette I used to combine several of my small Colourpop palettes. It wasn’t an easy decision, especially since most of my Colourpop impulse buys are due to the packaging, but I love being able to see all my options.

I did have to label the shadows myself and at some point I stopped including what palette they were from but it is easy to Google the shadow name and see what palette it was in.

Shadows used :

  • Champs from Yes, Please
  • Top Notch from All I See is Magic
  • Hard from Double Entendre
  • Elfish from Dream St
  • Money Tree from Fortune
  • Juicy Fruit

The highlighter is a recent Jaclyn Cosmetics loose highlighters and the bronzer is from the Tarte Ave Princess palette.

How do you feel about depotting palettes?

Morphe 18B look

I intended to have this up Friday but, I forgot >.<.

My plan is to post at least every Mondays and Fridays and sometimes Wednesdays. Check back Monday to see if that happens! Lol

For this look I used the Morphe 18B, Making Bank, palette

This is an 18 pan palette that comes in a cardboard palette and has a mirror. It’s no longer available but it was an $18 palette that I probably purchased on sale.

Overall, I enjoy Morphe eyeshadows. They are a bit on the dry side, you can see how dusty the upper left olive color is, but I find them easy to work with.

I love the way the crease colors blended together with the yellow and olive to lighten up the look but the star is the bottom right color. I applied the color over NYX glitter primer on the inner 2/3rds of my eyelid. It doesn’t look like much in the pan but it has a duochrome finish that shifts color depending on how the light hits it. This look reminded me why I love Morphe shadows so much.

I used my standard Essence Lash Princess mascara and this face trio by Pop Beauty that I got in a Boxycharm pop-up sale. The bronzer and blush look shimmery in the pans but when you apply them they have a nice finish, not shimmery or glittery and it doesn’t emphasize texture.

  • Morphe 18B shades: Check Please/ Cash or Card/ Jackpot/ C-Note/ Make It Rain/ Bazillionaire/ Rake It In/ Deposits
  • Beauty by POPSUGAR Trio Time Face in Coffee Break
  • Essence Lash Princess Scultped Volume

Colourpop Baroque look

Here I am again with another colourpop palette, oops 🙂

I’m sure there are others who, like me, make impulsive purchases knowing they might not use what they buy or try to go out of their comfort zone.

I liked almost everything from the Take it to Baroque collection with the exception of the lux liquid lip glosses (3 in the collection) and the Baroque palette so the collector in me got the entire collection. >.<

Colourpop Baroque palette

So, I have this palette with colors I never use, now what. Well, guess I’ll just put some colors on my lids

I used Bébé in the crease, applies softly and blended out. I had a little bit of issues with this being patchy but I was able to blend it out after a couple of layers.

Then I applied Lounge to the outer third and blended it into the crease

I applied Secret all over the lid, first with a pencil then tapped it into my lid to try to get some of beautiful periwinkle glitter on the lid. The sequence formula doesn’t really transfer that well out of the pan.

I used some NYX glitter glue over secret and applied Ritzy over it from the middle to the inner corner.

Then I applied Noble over the middle towards the out third.

Once I applied Ritzy and Noble I loved the look.

I used Bébé across the lower lash and added lounge to the outer third lower

My final first impression thoughts on the palette are that the formulas are easy to use, pigmented and blend out nicely. The colors are beautiful and the colors story is perfect together.

Even if you don’t use these colors often, I’d recommend giving this palette a try!

MOTD Natasha Denona Zendo Palette

The new Natasha Denona Zendo plan is so pretty and perfect for a quick look!
This is one of the smaller $25 palettes and the quality is still there.

The palette has two mattes, one that you can use in your crease as a transition shade diffused up to your brow bone and a slightly darker matte that you can build up to darken the look.

Natasha Denona Zendo Palette

I used the darkest shimmer, Stark, in the outer V to smoke out my look and the green shimmer shade, Stripped, in the inner and center area of the lid over the NYX Cosmetics Glitter primer.

I did have some slight fallout, most of which I was able to brush off but I did end up with a few specks of glitter here and there.

I loved how this came out and how long it last throughout the day. I would definitely recommend this, especially during the Sephora Holiday sale or Black Friday sales

MOTD using CP Ornate

It seems like the only products I own are Colourpop but it’s just a coincidence I remember to blog when I use their products!

Products used

For my eyeshadow I used the following colors : Ornate – Siren/ Charisma/ Rival/ Tipsy/ Boheme and Puppy liner. For the lips I used Colourpop lux liquid lipstick in L’auberge. Bronzer is a Kiko Milano product and blush is MAC

I added the liner in the crease since it’s been a popular detail this year and curiosity finally go the best of me.

I will definitely have to practice this style to find how and where it looks best.

I’m still struggling with the Colourpop gel pot liners and continue to not recommend them.

Have you used the liners? What do you think of then?
