Colourpop Eye look V1

Not sure if the previous Colourpop palette posts count but I’m calling this V1 because I’m using shadows I’ve depotted and placed into one large palette.

This is the x-large palette I used to combine several of my small Colourpop palettes. It wasn’t an easy decision, especially since most of my Colourpop impulse buys are due to the packaging, but I love being able to see all my options.

I did have to label the shadows myself and at some point I stopped including what palette they were from but it is easy to Google the shadow name and see what palette it was in.

Shadows used :

  • Champs from Yes, Please
  • Top Notch from All I See is Magic
  • Hard from Double Entendre
  • Elfish from Dream St
  • Money Tree from Fortune
  • Juicy Fruit

The highlighter is a recent Jaclyn Cosmetics loose highlighters and the bronzer is from the Tarte Ave Princess palette.

How do you feel about depotting palettes?

Colourpop Sandstone

Here’s another colourpop look!

The Sandstone palette may be just another neutral with a yellow but I still love it!

Available on Colourpop’s website as of 10/16/2020

This palette has 4 mattes, 7 mattes that have glitter particles and 7 metallics/shimmers.

I find that these particular mattes that have the glitter through them apply with more of that glitter on the lid that previous versions have. I’m ok with it so I actually still apply these as if they were just mattes.

  • MAC paint pot in soft ocre
  • Vortex in the crease to brow
  • Oasis in crease, keeping it lower
  • Canyon Loop on outer half of lid and into lid
  • Big Butte in outer third of lid and softly into crease
  • Templeton in the outer edge, in a V shape with a tighter brush. Then take a fluffier brush to blend it out and slightly blending it into the crease
  • Pueblo on lid – dip brush into color, spray with setting spray then apply to lid
  • Blend between Pueblo and outer lid colors
  • Lower lash – Canyon Loop, Big Butte and Templeton
  • Desert Sky in the inner corner, dip brush into the color, spray and apply
Brushes used, you can see the different densities

New Colourpop Lippie Stix

Colourpop recently released four new lippie stix with their Sandstone palette release and I picked up all four!

Each lippie stix retails for $7 or you can get the set of 4 for $26.

It took me a while to get the hang of, or get used to, the lippie stix formula. It seems like a combination of a lip pencil and lipstick, it has longer staying power that a lipstick but not as mucb as a liquid lipstick.

These are supposed to be a “blur” formula but I’ll have to confirm what they actually show on the box. From my experience with the four, only one pops out as having their “blur” effect which was Hike House. I really had to build up Hike House to get good and even pigmentation and it did enhance the dryness of my lips.

The other three shades were easy to apply and went on pigmented and smoothly.

Overall I really like this set and would definitely recommend Verde Valley, Coyote Ugly and Prarie Home. If you really like the color, you can make Hike House work, you’ll just need to make sure to give your lips some extra TLC.
