Colourpop SSS Vol 2 Pug Life

Here’s a quick look using Colourpop super shock shadow Pug Life.

I had to build up the color with a couple of layers but I didn’t used a base or glitter primer.

I used Nomad Cosmetics FĂȘtes de Provence for the mattes in the look

Side note: I’m not sure what it is about these Nomad palettes but I’ve found them the easiest to use when it comes to pastel and cool toned colors. They’re so pigmented and easy to blend without fading away. I don’t know if it’s the formula or my comfort level but I would highly recommend them!

Colourpop Super Shock Shadow Storage

I’m the kind of person who likes to be able to easily see what I have in my collections.

I recently downsized my living space significantly and am still trying to figure out the best way to store things. Something I’ve struggled with even before this are my CP Super Show Shadows. Even before this, I couldn’t figure out the best way to store them without taking up all the space but still have them easily accessible and viewable.

Well, I think I finally found the solution!

These washi tape holders can hold anywhere between 54 and 90 SSS, depending on how you place them. The drawers slide out making them super easy to access and they’re clear so you can see what’s inside.

You could store them face up in a single row or double stack them, or you can line them up back to back for maximum storage.

I found these at Michael’s but you can also find them on Amazon starting at about $16US.

Colourpop SSS Vol 1

As I go through all my makeup, I’d like to have somewhere to reference color swatches and quick eyeshadow ideas. I figured uploading them here is as good a place as any :).

I used Snap Dragon for the base, definitivamente had to revive this one with some Duraline

I know the proper way of reviving these is to break them up and repress them using Duraline but ain’t nobody got time for that, so I just add a drop on top and get the pigment. I’d also like to add that the SSS already have a nice staying power but with Duraline they tend to be a little harder to remove.

Obvi is an ultra-glitter that doesn’t have a lot of pigment, so I used it over Snap Dragon

I finished it off using Maybelline Lasting Drama Matte eyeliner in 910 Jade Olive. I’m impressed at how smooth and pigmented this eyeliner showed up despite not being used in a while

I hope these posts are also useful to others :)!

Colourpop Makeup Look V2

I have a large collection of Colourpop palettes and singles that I’ve put in an X-Large palette that I like to bring out every now and then to try new color combos.

For this look I used the following shadows

These are all from the Getting Fresh palette. I like swatching the shadows I use individually in case someone wants to use the same, or similar, colors but don’t have Colourpop shadows. I love the formula of CP’s shadows and these have great pigment and blend nicely.

George Michael (puppy) saw me put on makeup and was instantly excited thinking we were going out, lol.

I’m definitely feeling rusty when it comes to blogging but I continue to try to be consistent with it.

I hope this look inspires your own and if it does I’d love to see it! IG handle is asquard :).

Face Sheet Masks

I feel like a couple of years ago sheet masks were all the rage and these days I don’t see them talked about as often.

I personally love using them but I find them to be a hassle. This is mostly because I don’t particularly enjoy the wet texture of the mask as I’m taking it out of the package and when I’m applying them.

Recently though, I was watching someone in YouTube and they mentioned they didn’t think face masks had any skincare benefits and it made me want to use one again.

In the past when I used them, I would still walk around and do some cleaning or decluttering but now I really give myself 10-15 minutes to just close eyes and relax.

I’m no expert on skincare or active ingredients but I can say that after using the mask my skin felt hydrated. After massaging in any remaining serum, I applied my regular skincare and my skin stayed hydrated. I can’t say that the mask did or didn’t do anything but, it was a nice and relaxing 15 minutes.

How do you feel about sheet masks?

Long Hair Do Care

I should not be allowed to have long hair. I’m not ready for the responsibility of caring for this hair *SMH*

I’m on vacation and forgot to bring conditioner even though I’m fully aware 85% of the time the hotels will not provide this (why?????). As soon as I saw the “conditioning shampoo” I knew I was in trouble.

Typically I wash my hair once or twice a week with some co-washing in between (I use Curlsmith Curl Quenching Conditioning Wash which I highly recommend). I have the satin pillows, do the braiding before bed, that kind of…care. On vacation though? I may have forgotten to try to tame my hair before bed.

I can’t explain how I washed my hair the next morning. I kept hoping that as I applied and scrubbed the knots would just go away.

They didn’t.

When I say I wanted to cry and take the butter knife to my hair (note to self: leaving scissors at home was a good idea) I meant it. I had noooo clue how I was going to get through this rat’s nest. It was the same story on BOTH sides *insert cry emoji*.

Thankfully I grabbed random sample products I keep specifically for traveling and miraculously I had packed It’s a 10 Miracle Leave-in and Virtue Split End Serum

I have experience with the It’s a 10 product and the one issue I have with it is that at some point early on in the product’s life, it becomes impossible to spray out. Given my dire situation, I added a bit of hot water, shook and hoped for the best.

I had not previously used the Virtue product but I definitely have split ends so, perfect! I probably used half of this sample in my hair today. Which means, I can confidently say it doesn’t not leave your hair sticky or greasy and it doesn’t feel heavy. This helped me untangle my hair enough to separate it in smaller sections to deal with the knots.

Once I got my hair separated into smaller sections I started spraying the It’s a 10 and used a comb to brush through the remaining tiny knots.

After what felt like a lifetime, but was only 20 minutes, I was able to comb through my hair completely. Try not to recoil in horror, I know I need a cut and color touchup. Working from home has made it a low priority. After this though, I may need to reevaluate.

So my hair goes back to it’s standard side braid until it and I learn how to act right.

All lazy hair tips are welcomed 🙂
